Match report NMJFC u12s girls - 26/11/22

Hazel Grove Vs New Mills u12 Girls

Izzy’s debut today against a good Hazel Grove side and she did herself & the team proud.  Lovely defending, forcing their players to make mistakes, getting stuck in when needed, well done.

The result today didn’t reflect the performance & with illness throughout the camp it was a shame to be beaten, we will look forward to playing them again & now with a score to settle.

An opener for Freya L but a comeback 3 times over for the Hazel Grove side. Freya L to grab another, we went into half time trailing by 2.  Ellie was tasked with keeper for second half & under the weather herself too, her competitiveness and always eager to get a result for the team shows every week.

Freya B clawed us one back, we were very much on the back foot & standing off instead of attacking play.

Again, lots of positives to take from today’s match from making great use of the wing, creating good options and more understanding of what to do off the ball were highlights.

Seeing them put into their game what we as a coaching team have been working on at training is great.

Nayia, our captain for today, out wide instead of a centre mid position with a quality performance, so much so, brought herself off the pitch with no more left in the tank.  Fierce down that wing and the team’s private joke, was only decked 3 times. On a serious note, cracking pace throughout, timed crosses, beautiful corners – well done.

Again, all about the wing play for us today and cementing her out wide position every week, Jaz’s solid work throughout was pure joy to see, same class corner and free kicks and Coach Jo giving her the commendation of the best she’d ever seen her play. Keep doing what you do and let your light shine! Both these girls today holding up play to wait for the cross into centre showed confidence and understanding and earnt them both player of the match.  Well deserved girls.

Looking forward to getting back on the new Ollerset pitch and working on a more permanent keeper.

Also, big thank you to our sponsor for our new jackets.  Keep smiling girls, every single one of us are proud of you.
