From the first whistle, there was a calm confidence about our match today. Everyone was grateful for Martha taking on the role of goalkeeper – a safe pair of hands who dealt with everything thrown her way. She pulled off some excellent saves and distributed the ball intelligently, setting the tone for attacks with confident throws and well-struck kicks. The training session leading into today’s game focused on passing on the move and holding our formation, and it really showed on the pitch! The team worked hard on keeping their shape and moving the ball quickly. We played some well-structured football , with excellent teamwork and some really sharp passing combinations. The Millers were fantastic from start to finish today, with all 14 players contributing to the win. Archie controlled the back line, with Fletcher, Stan, Alfie and Cole winning all their duels and playing forwards quickly. New Mills Under 8's took to the pitch under bright, sunny skies today, with the sun shining down on what was a fantastic display of football. A new formation gave the team great control, and it was clear that the hard work from training paid off, especially with the players tracking their opponents much more effectively.
