The girls all warmed up superbly well and looked ready and focused for the tough game they knew lay ahead.
The Millers were looking for their first win away at the TSS stadium and the started the game with real intent.
The back line of Lily, Grace and Izzy controlled the Bucks attacks and worked tirelessly to keep their clean sheet in tact with Taylor also coming out bravely when she needed too.
The midfield battled hard with Delilah and Annie Mae working hard to win the ball back for the team and both Alissa and Isla working hard down both wings to create chances for the team. Nieve dropped in to receive the ball and link the attacks with her hold up play.
Mia then entered the pitch to add more energy to the centre midfield area and give Del a rest and keep energy levels high throughout the first half.
Buxton opened the scoring just before the break with a well taken goal, this did not stop the girls continuing to create opportunities to score.
At half time the coaches encourage the team to make sure we get out to block shots on the edge of our box and also that the game was still there for us if we worked as hard in the second half.
Finally the rewards came for the team as Delilah equalised with a long range free kick into the top corner of the goal.
The Millers then kicked on from there and really took control of the game.
Delilah got her second with another long range finish as the Millers took the lead.
Annie mae then got in the act winning the ball in centre midfield striding forward and smashing home a third into the top corner for a 3-1 lead for the Millers.
The Bucks reacted quickly and got one back with a clever lobbed goal and the pressure was on.
The next ten mins New Mills defended solidly with outstanding full back defending from both Izzy and Grace, Lilly controlled the defence superbly and this time we kept the Bucks at bay.
The girls were determined to see this game out and promptly killed the game off when Nieve smashed In the fourth after robbing the full back and lobbing the keeper.
This was an outstanding team performance with all the girls giving their absolute maximum effort and the result merited the effort put in.
Girl of the game was a tough choice as all the teams girls could have won it but the coaches went for Annie Mae whose all action midfield display was noticed by the opposition coaches too.
A great win that keeps the girls at the top of the group and finishing their season strongly 👊👊
