Match report Chapel Blues under 10’s V New Mills Yellows under 10’s

Chapel Blues under 10’s V New Mills Yellows under 10’s

The start of the new season in the High Peak League, with a new name, new management and additions to the team, our opening fixture was against one of the top teams in the league Chapel, so we knew it would be a tough test for us to see where we are.

Pre-season, we’ve been working on fitness, passing and ball control, the word from management was to bring this to the game today, and they didn’t disappoint,

The first half was end to end, with some great midfield play from Poppy, Archie and Sammie, and their efforts to try and feed Robbie in on goal.

Henry and Lucas solid at the back, and Zac put a sterling first half performance in goal.

With trying to give everybody equal game time and the squad being bigger than last season, Oscar came on upfront and never stopped running, Nathan came in at the back and gave a solid performance, Angus came on right midfield and never stopped running, like usual.  Half time came and everyone was ready for well-deserved drinks break, and after a competitive first half, all round the management and the players were happy with the first half performance.

Onto the second half, and everyone gave 100% just as they did in the first half, looking for passes and creating chances on goal, subs were rolled to give tired legs a rest, overall, lots of positives for our first fixture against Chapel.

No player of the week award from us, as we feel everyone worked hard, special mention to Archie who never stopped running down the left wing testing the defence and the goalkeeper, Poppy in centre mid for her distribution and tracking back and helping the defence, and Lucas who never gave up and won every 50/50 tackle he went in for.

Well done Mini Millers!!!
