Match report Chinley vs New Mills U11’s 12/11/23

A match with plenty of determination with around 20+ shots on target by New Mills.

First half saw Chinley on top and this placed the Millers against the run of play.

The New Mills players dug in with Dexter winning a penalty after a great attack from the wing. He hit the bar from the penalty and we could argue it crossed the line but unfortunately it wasn't given.

The team continued on and pressed throughout the first half scoring 2 goals, one by Jo which came from a corner.

Chinley were strong and continued to catch us out on the break.

Second half team talk, we discussed that we needed to have more intensity, physicality and keep doing what we were doing from the first half… the team came out second half and totally dominated the play by having numerous chances, shots which should have resulted in lots of goals. The only reason no goals were scored was due to the Chinley goalkeeper who played out of his skin.

Second half saw more great football with some super saves by Albie (this weeks player of the game).

The boys won the second half with out a doubt and delivered what was asked of them and more.

We passed well and communicated between each other and showed real resilience. Myself and James were really proud of them and how they responded after the half time talk.

Well done Under 11s 👏🏻👏🏻
