Match report for New Mills Girls Under 11s v FC Bluestar Saturday 12th September 11.30am
This was our first game of the new season. We are still in the Cheshire Girls League and, as last season, still play our games at Laurus Cheadle.
As a team, 7 v 7, I feel right from the start we were full of energy and focus.
All players seemed full of confidence for this game and the season ahead. As a team, all positions were being played well.
Alex and Charley are both keen goalkeepers and played a half each in goal, Charley for the first half. Both were fully confident in this position, covering their area with bold, strong confidence.
We rotated players in position for the first game of the season, as some of our team do like to play in different areas of the pitch. This worked really well when making substitutions.
In defence, Anya was solid and always alert, as she is in every game. So was Alice; this gained her the Girl of the Match!
Up front, our two main strikers, Mia and Iris, worked well together. This is a tried and tested attacking duo!
Overall, for the first game of the season, the team were full of confidence and always alert. I hope to see this confidence grow throughout the season.
