Match Report New Mills U9 Wasps VS New Mills U9 Bees 24/09/23
The first Derby of the season and it was jam packed full of action as we would expect from these two young teams
The match was played as a 6-a-side which really had an affect on the Wasps attacking side.
The match started slow for the Wasps. Struggling to find their positions and looking a little tired they were caught off guard very quickly.
With a little shift in positioning the team started to push back taking control of the ball and keeping it out of their own half.
Kai who took home the player of the week trophy 🏆 had a switch in mindset after being subbed off the pitch for a short while. He came back on with a new determination, he didn’t stop running for the rest of the game and he was looking out for the pass. Setting up a couple of brilliant shots.
Rocco as consistent as he has been in all of our games this season. Never giving up, he wasn’t just pushing up for the goals he was doing a fine effort of running back for a lost ball also.
Dylan had some magic feet today and he ran up and down the wing the whole game. Making some incredible runs and putting his all into trying to get a cross in front of the goal.
Alfie was looking tired for the first time this season. The boy that never stops running was getting to a point where he couldn’t run anymore.
Our defensive line of Jacob, Sam and Alexander. Really had their work cut out for them today. There was an onslaught of attack from the Bees and much of the game was about pushing them out of our area.
Frankie was on great form today he was tested from a number of angles. Eager to stop the ball at every opportunity. Tough day for an excellent goal keeper. He never gave up and his head never dropped.
Excellent games played by all today shout out to the Bees who were on top form.
