It was a chilly Saturday morning on January 31st, but NMJFC brought the heat with a performance defined by pure grit and a tenacious "never-say-die" attitude.
Lining up 6-a-side, the boys started with Charlie commanding the area in goal, protected by the hard-working unit of Henry, Ollie, Joseph, Angus, and Louie.
From the first whistle, it was clear this would be a physical battle. Angus and Charlie (after his stint between the posts) were relentless in the final third, driving forward with some fantastic attacking football that kept the Spurley Hey defense on their toes throughout a back-and-forth encounter.
The momentum shifted in the second half as Henry took over the gloves, showing great composure under pressure. Despite the tired legs, the NMJFC spirit never wavered; every loose ball was contested, and every player gave their absolute all for the shirt. Just when it looked like the points might be shared, Ollie stepped up into the spotlight. Showing incredible clinical instinct, Ollie found the back of the net in the final couple of minutes to snatch a dramatic victory. It was a testament to the team's resilience—proving that at NMJFC, we play until the very last second.
Player of the Match award went to Ollie for a job well done with the goals.
