Match Report NMJFC Stockport Metro League (Cup Game) U11 Boys v Reddish Vulcans 17/03/24

An early start never suits our boys. It took a Reddish goal to wake the boys up but once awake they were producing the type of football we love to see. 

Oli C and the defensive players Joseph, Leyton, Leighton and Brodie grew into the game mid way through the first half and played the ball out from the back, creating great opportunities for the attacking players Bobby, Harry P, Sam, Oli F, Jimmy, Harry F and Remo to press forward at pace causing problems with every attack for their opponents. 

New Mills first goal came from Remo, this was a well taken goal from a beautiful cross. Oli F added a second for the Millers with a rocket of a shot just before half time. 

With a change of formation for the second half the Millers started brightly, spreading the ball wide and using the space to attack from the wings.

It wasn’t long before Remo scored his second of the game. Within minutes of the kick off the Millers had the ball in the net again, this time it was Oli F with his second.

Jimmy finished off the scoring for the Millers with a great finish from outside the box.

The ‘brainmat’ player of the match this week goes to Sam. Sam was great this week on the wing pressing forward as well as back tracking to help his defence. Well done Sam.
