Match report NMJFC U10s – 21/02/26

The U10’s arrived bright and early for an 08:15 kick-off against Buxton Young Bucks.

New Mills lined up with James in goal, Charlie T and Pavak in defence, Stanley, Charlie J and Teddy in midfield, and Dylan leading the line.

The game began with New Mills showcasing the “pass and move” style that has been a big focus in training. While they controlled possession well, Buxton Young Bucks remained a constant threat going forward.

A superb top-corner strike from Teddy just before half-time settled any nerves for the Millers.

The second half started with renewed energy and intent. An early goal from Dylan boosted confidence, and he was fortunate to get a touch on a powerful effort from birthday boy Rhys, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

After a short rest, Stanley returned to the action and made an instant impact, scoring two quick goals in succession—fully deserved for his efforts.

New Mills had to dig deep in the latter stages, showing resilience and composure. With James’ safe hands in goal and smart decision-making at the back, they managed the game well with confidence.

It was a fantastic all-round performance, featuring flowing passing, powerful strikes, determination, and relentless effort throughout.

Player of the Match was shared between Teddy, who set the tone in the first half with his determination and superb goal, and Charlie J, who dictated play in the second half with composure, creativity, and selfless teamwork to bring others into the game.
