Match Report NMJFC U10s v. Benchill Celtic HFC Hornets (Cup Game)

Under 11 ‘brain mat’ Sponsored Boys

Stockport Metro League

With a early start you could forgive the boys if they thought they were still in bed dreaming. Thankfully they woke up before the dream turned into a nightmare.

In the first half our boys started slow, they took time to settle on the ball and implement their style of football. This kept our defenders Brodie, Leyton and Eddie very busy, but as ever along with Oli C in goals they were up for the challenge.

Midway through the first half the boys started to settle into the game and started to move the ball around nicely and created several chances which involved lovely passing and teamwork. Wingers, Sam and Harry F seen more of the ball and the boys determination to change the play to their style of football was rewarded with two goals in the first half. Both goals was finished brilliantly by Harry F and Oli F.

The Millers started second half brilliantly and pressed forward at every opportunity displaying nice fast passing and support play. The trio of Tyler, Bobby and Harry P In the midfield was always available to help there defence along with setting up our wingers and forward Oli F, turning defence into attack.

Second half goals was scored by Sam (2) and a Harry P screamer from outside the box with minutes to go, which was a great way to finish what was a great game of football.

The ‘brain mat’ sponsored man of the match goes to Tyler, his awareness, hunger for the ball and teamwork was fantastic today.

I would also like to mention one of our new metro stars Jimmy. Jimmy picked up an unfortunate injury during the week but still traveled to the match to support his new teammates. Amazing!!!
