U11 Boys v Richmond Rovers Blue - 2/3/24

First cup game of the year and our boys were definitely up to the challenge. New Mills started brightly controlling the play and playing fast attacking football. 

Remo opened the scoring with a great individual run from midfield before finishing with a bullet of a shot. 

The defensive partnerships of Bobby, Eddie, Leighton, Leyton and Brodie along with keeper Oli C played like their lives depended it!

Constantly pressuring and breaking down any attacks limiting Richmond to shots from distance in the first half.

The boys started the second half as they did the first pressuring their opponents goals. It wasn’t long before Bobby added a second for the Millers finishing nicely from a corner kick.

Attacking players, Harry F, Remo, Jimmy, Oli F, Harry P, Tyler and Sam continued to play attractive football mixing up each attack and were hungry for more goals.

The next goal came from spectacular shot from Harry P to the top corner giving the goalkeeper no chance. 

Harry P added his 2nd lobbing the keeper from 20 / 25 yards out. Great vision Harry!!!!

This was a great team performance and made the coaches proud to see boys produce what they learn at training on match days.

The ‘brainmat’ players of the match this week goes to Harry P. Apart from his amazing goals, Harry controlled the midfield today. Well done Harry.
