Match Report NMJFC U11 girls - 03/02/24

U11 girls vs Ashton Pumas

This was a brilliant game of football to watch, two evenly matched teams, some great attacking play, good defending and top goals.

Ashton started the game the better team and looked to attack the Millers goal.

Luckily birthday girl Florence was on hand, winning some great tackles to stop the attacks.

Florence and Emily were strong at the back all game and as usual when called upon in goal, Millie produced some good saves.

Slowly New Mills started to create their own chances with both Elsie and Isla firing just over the bar.

On the wing, Tallulah worked hard and won lots of tackles.

Late in the half Brooke also came close from distance but was denied by a good stop from Ashton's Keeper.

After a rest at half time, New Mills came out for the second half on the front foot and scored a cracking goal; Elsie linked up well with Brooke who played a great ball to Isla ⚽️ who finished well into the net.

New Mills continued to play good football and it wasn’t long before the pressure pId off with Elsie ⚽️ finishing well from close range.

The final period of the game was tight with both teams having chances. Lily, who played brilliantly on the left, came close a couple of times with one attempt hitting the post.

Eventually the girls scored their third of the game, a great long range attempt from Elsie⚽️

Late on and Ashton continued push forward looking for goals. Fortunately the Millers had Millie in goal who pulled off a couple of great saves. This earned her the POTM trophy 🏆

Fantastic game, well done girls!!!

⚽️🖤💛⚽️
