The Millers have started the season with some good performances and wanted to continue that this weekend. The opponents today were a strong Buxton side who the girls knew well having played them in a pre-season friendly.
From the first whistle the girls started the game strong and matched up against the opposition. Millie produced some good saves to keep the contest close. Going forward the girls looked a threat early on but were controlled well by the Buxton defence.
As the game developed Buxton were helped by some freak goals but New Mills continued to battle hard to keep the match a good contest.
Stand out players today included Lily who looked to get on the ball and made some good passes forward.
A deserved player of the match award went to Brooke who showed an amazing work ethic to get back and help the defence whilst at the same time showed some tricky skills on the wing.
