Match Report NMJFC U11 girls - 23/03/24

U11 Girls vs Chapel

Illness to a few players meant that the team was down to just 6 today. To their credit Chapel agreed the game would be played 6-a-side.

Despite having a depleted team and no subs the Millers were brilliant. The work rate from all of the players was fantastic and the football was a joy to watch.

With only six players we decided to go with just one defender. As such, it was important that Millie in goal and Erin in defence were at their best, and they were. Both stopped numerous advances on goal from the opposition and Erin’s passing from the back was impressive.

Also impressive today was Isla’s performance in midfield. She finished the game with a deserved hat trick ⚽️⚽️⚽️ The first two were long range efforts and her third was the goal of the game; a great run into the box and a pass from Elsie found Isla who finished well. What a midfielder!

Emily is such a good all round player and she performs well all over the pitch. Today she played in midfield and scored a good goal in the first half ⚽️ But for some top saves second half from the keeper Emily would have scored more.

Today’s line up was a chance for Florence to play in midfield. She was a threat all game and the crowd were willing her to get a goal. Second half she got the ball, evaded the defender and finished well into the corner. Great goal Florence ⚽️

Elsie’s performance was probably one of her best of the season. She was really good on the ball and caused problems for the defenders with her skill and pace. Two goals today for Elsie⚽️⚽️ one in the first half and a top corner in the second half.

Great team performance. All of the coaches agreed Erin 🏆deserved today’s Player of the Match award. Well played Erin.

⚽️🖤💛⚽️
