Match Report NMJFC U11 Girls vs Stockport Vikings FC U11s Jagu 25/10/25

What a fantastic performance from the team this week! From start to finish, the girls played with heart, determination, and growing confidence across the pitch. In goal, Martha was once again a reliable presence - making a number of excellent saves and showing real composure with her passing and decision-making. Her bravery in blocking shots and reading the game kept the opposition at bay time and again.

In defence, Poppy D and Seren formed a solid partnership. Poppy D showed great discipline, timing her interceptions perfectly and linking play well with her teammates. Her positioning and passing helped the team build calmly from the back. Seren was equally impressive - fearless in her tackles and quick to push the ball forward, often turning defence into attack. Both showed great awareness and teamwork throughout.

Out wide, Florence on the right continues to grow in confidence. Her movement and understanding with the midfield was excellent, and her runs caused real problems for the opposition. In the middle, Jessica was tireless - running hard, linking up play beautifully, and sparking a number of attacking moves. On the left, Millie added pace and energy, darting down the wing with purpose and firing a few dangerous shots on goal. Up front, Paige was a strong presence, always battling for the ball and showing improved footwork, getting several shots away to keep the pressure on.

Soon we introduced Annabella, Ava, Stevie, and Poppy J into the mix. Poppy J was a standout up front, holding the ball up superbly - even when surrounded by defenders - and getting a good shot on target. Ava impressed with her intelligent runs down the right, showing great awareness of when to pass and when to take players on. Annabella, as ever, was everywhere - full of energy, never giving up, and constantly unsettling the opposition. Stevie continues to develop beautifully, using her strength to win challenges and making confident runs with the ball.

In the second half, the team maintained their momentum. Jessica had a powerful shot on goal and kept making clever runs through the middle. Paige continued to be a menace up front, while Millie worked tirelessly up and down the pitch, supporting both attack and defence. Florence kept driving the ball down the wing, showing real intent, and Martha made several more brilliant saves to deny the opposition. At the back, Poppy D stayed disciplined and alert, sticking to her role and taking on instructions superbly. Seren continued to push the ball forward with confidence, helping transition play into attack.

When Stevie, Poppy J, Annabella and Ava came back on, the energy level lifted again - all pressing hard and taking the game to the opposition. Annabella had a couple of shots on goal, and Stevie continued to grow into the match, thinking smartly about her positioning and movement. Poppy J worked tirelessly for the team, holding the ball up, taking shots, and maintaining a strong attacking presence.

It’s getting harder every week to pick just one player of the week - every single girl plays with positivity, focus, and a big smile. But this week, the honour went to Poppy D, who showed fantastic discipline in defence, listened to her coaches, and played with real intelligence and heart. A brilliant performance all round - well done to every single player!
