Match report NMJFC U11s - 11/03/23
New Mills u11 v Spurley Clarets u11
The Mini Millers were fantastic throughout this match playing with composure, positional discipline and a steely determination which served them well.
The defence were resolute with Darragh taking the gloves for today, Alex, Dan F and Indi allowing very little to pass them, winning the duels and blocking any advances on the Millers goal.
Midfield was marshalled by Bobby and Ryan with great energy and authority with both Freddie and Bertie causing havoc down both flanks.
Dan W lead the line with great energy and bravery against a strong and physical team.
Harry came on up top and worked well, using the ball well and taking up good positions to receive possession to start attacks.
Two excellent goals were scored, Dan W red making an excellent run into the channel then crossing superbly for Bertie to finish the chance showing great control ⚽️
The second goal saw excellent tempo passing starting with Freddie turning over possession and playing to Bertie who then assisted Bobby to dispatch a super long range finish ⚽️
Player of the match was a tough choice as so many had played well in this game, the award deservedly went to Freddie for his work rate up and down the wing which saw Freddie win all his duels and then play with great composure when in possession of the ball.
Coaches Liam, Rob and Rick were very proud of the team performance and endeavour the team showed against a tough opponent.
Up the Mini Millers 👊
