U12 Yellows v Tytherington Juniors Titans
With an early start this week, our boys were determined to kick start their season after a couple of touch games the last two weeks and get some points on the board.
The boys started brightly, keeping shape while passing the ball around with accuracy, spreading the play wide and pressing their opponents back and not letting them settle on the ball.
Oli C in goals; mixed up his kick outs giving plenty of options for midfielders and wingers to attack the space and pressure the Tytherington goal. Eventually the Millers took lead with excellent finish from Remo to finish a great team goal.
New Mills held there 1-0 until the break with solid defending from Eddie and Joseph along with Bobby and Harry P happy to come back from midfield to help out defence when needed. Harry P seemed to be everywhere today, always in the right position at the right time.
Amazing boys, more of the same in the second half was the team talk!
Not long into the second half New Mills and Remo again was on the score sheet. Coming from quick thinking from Leighton at the back sending Remo through one on one with the keeper with an inch perfect pass.
Wingers and attackers Jimmy, Lucas, Oli F, Tyler and Harry F kept motoring up and down the sides whilst trying to add to the goal tally but also determined to keep a clean sheet today.
New Mills finished the game in style with a third goal for Remo to give the boys their first points of the season with a 3-0 win.
The ‘brainmat’ man of the match goes to Eddie, Eddie left everything on the pitch today. Well done Eddie.
