U12 girls vs Haughton Green
A few changes to the team this week, the starting line up was Millie in goal; Erin, Evie and Florence in defence; Isla and Lucie in midfield; Esmee and Brooke out wide with Emily starting striker. Lily D, Lily H and Neve started sub. All of the players were rotated today and all of them played a part in a good victory for the Millers.
It was a cold start to the day but the game was lit up early on by the brilliance of Brooke on the wing. Brooke caused non stop problems for the opposition defenders and not before long she helped herself to a hattrick. The first two were great finishes following runs into the box and the third was a finish to cap off a great team move.
Another brilliant move involving Esmee, Brooke and Isla saw Emily help herself to a first half goal.
On the break Haughton Green were dangerous and their forwards had pace. Erin, Florence, Evie and Neve all did well generally but Haughton did manage to get a goal meaning it was 4-1 at half time.
At the break Millie came out of goal and both Isla and Esmee volunteered to play 15mins each in goal. Both did well, as did Millie in midfield. In fact Millie’s midfield performance was brilliant and early on she turned provider to set up Lily D for the first of her three second half goals.
Before the final whistle Brooke found the bottom corner to get her fourth goal and later on her corner found Lily H who brilliantly finished into the net.

For Player of the match we awarded the trophy to Lucie who is slowly becoming a top player. She did well today in both midfield and in defence.
