Match Report NMJFC U12 Girls vs Bollington United U12 Capybaras – Away 26/09/2026
Another week and another game not to be missed. Martha took her place in net and once again showed just how cool and confident she can be between the sticks. She collected the ball brilliantly, stood equal to everything the opposition threw at her and produced some fantastic distribution. Her high balls up towards midfield were excellent and, most importantly, the girls looked confident knowing Martha was behind them.
Poppy on the right and Florence at left centre-back both put in a fantastic shift. They knew exactly when to step in with a tackle and both were willing to play the ball forward whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Poppy worked tirelessly, covering a huge amount of ground, putting in some excellent tackles and making some important clearances.
Florence was equally composed and dependable, helping to keep things organised at the back while also looking to get the team moving forward.
Our wing backs, Annabella and Ava were full of energy yet again. Ava was always looking to push forward and support the attack, while Annabella seemed to cover every blade of grass on the pitch! Her relentless running and determination never let up, and both girls played a huge part in keeping the team moving.
Evie put in a strong performance on the left side of midfield. Her running was excellent, she made several important interceptions and was always ready to break forward when the chance came.
Stevie was strong on the ball and really took control of the midfield, driving forward with the ball and playing some lovely through balls into attacking areas.
Millie on the right was another constant threat, making several clever runs and showing excellent positioning throughout the game. She was eager to add to her goal tally and did exactly that!
Millie's first goal was a beauty. A fantastic strike was too much for the keeper, who could only parry it into the net. Her second goal was even more ruthless, giving the opposition absolutely no chance. Two excellent performances and a well-deserved reward for her movement and positioning throughout the game.
Up front, Paige showed some lovely footwork and excellent positioning. She played several good balls forward and wasn't afraid to take her chances when they came. Ava was also desperately unlucky not to get on the scoresheet herself. She was constantly looking to get forward, delivered some beautiful balls from the sidelines and came agonisingly close to scoring on more than one occasion. On another day, she could easily have had a goal to celebrate!
And that brings us to our Player of the Day — Ava! Ava was always thinking forward, listened brilliantly to the coaches and showed a fantastic attitude throughout the game. Her willingness to get involved, play the ball from the sidelines and constantly look for the next attacking opportunity made her a standout performer. She was incredibly unlucky not to find the back of the net, but her overall contribution was fantastic.
Once again, nine girls, no substitutions and a full 60 minutes played by every single one of them. We couldn't be prouder. They are not only working incredibly hard, but they're also learning the 9-a-side rules, understanding their positions and developing their game every single week. And this week has been an especially tough challenge, with the girls facing their second match in just a few days, giving them very little time to recover. But knowing these girls, they'll turn up with those huge beaming smiles they bring every week, ready to give it everything once again.
So proud of every single one of you, girls. Keep working hard, keep learning and most importantly, keep enjoying your football!
