Match Report NMJFC U12 girls vs Stockport Vikings 08/02/25

The message to the girls before the game was to try to play to the same standard as the week before. Despite having 3 players out through illness the girls did just that; this was another brilliant performance.

After a tight early 10 minutes the girls started to threaten the Stockport Vikings goal. Esmee was a real threat and made the opposition keeper make some good saves.

Midfield today was strong and dominated the middle of the park. Lucie had a great game breaking up the play, allowing Lily H and Lily D to be a threat going forward. Isla was also strong and won numerous tackles

Eventually the breakthrough came. Another New Mills attack resulted in Emily finding the back of the net. The goal put the millers 1 up at half time.

Second half and the girls continued to be excellent, especially defensively. Ella, Neve and Evie were once again outstanding, as was Millie in goal. A well deserved back to back clean sheet for them all.

Up front Emily was a threat all game. Her second goal was an exceptional finish from a tight angle. Towards the end of the game she bagged a great hattrick; racing clear of the defence and finding the bottom corner

A back to back 3-0 win, well done girls.

Numerous players were in contention for player of the game today. Ella, Emily and Evie were all great but we decided to give the award to Neve. Another top performance from the defender.
