Match Report NMJFC U12 Girls vs Tintwistle - 27/04/25

Dominant performance today from New Mills, from start to finish they were the better side as they claimed a 5-1 victory.

The girls were on it straight from the whistle and put the Tintwistle defence under constant pressure.

Brooke and Lily H were dangerous on the wings with Lily D a threat down the middle. It was once again the pace of Lily D that resulted in the opening goals; twice she raced clear, and twice she calmly slid the ball into the net.

The New Mills goal was quiet for most of the game and this was all down to a strong defensive display. Evie, Ella, Neve, Lucie and Florence all played at the back during the game and all played well

Emily is a great all round footballer and today she played in central midfield. She ran the game in the first half, playing good passes forward. She deservedly got a goal with an amazing strike from distance, keeper had no chance!

3-0 at half time and the girls were keen to keep the pressure on in the second half. They did this early on by adding two more goals; Brooke scored by cutting in from the left (as she has done consistently recently) and Lily D helped herself to another hat-trick.

New Mills didn’t get another goal but were unlucky on a few occasions. Isla played well in midfield second half and helped to create chances for others. Late on it looked like Millie was going to get a goal having gone up front but the Tintwistle keeper made a top save.

Late on Tintwistle grabbed a consolation goal which was probably their only shot on target.

Well gone girls. Player of the match trophy to Emily for a great all round performance.
