Match Report NMJFC U12s v High Lane - 25/11/23

On a cold and frosty early morning kick off the Mini Millers raced out of the blocks to start the game at great tempo and played some controlled attacking football in the first ten mins of the game.

Bobby controlled the back line and Daniel and Cookey won every duel in wide areas.

Mayson and India forced the pace in midfield with great energy and dynamism to get the ball wide to Darragh and Bertie to terrorise the opposition full backs.

Harry T worked tirelessly to prevent the opposition playing out from the back.

Bertie open the scoring with a glancing header from a superb Darragh left wing corner.

Several chances came and went as the High Lane custodian made several quality saves to keep the Mini Millers at bay.

The second goal was clinical right foot finish from Bertie after good approach play from Bobby and then Darragh.

Darragh then got himself a goal after quickly pressing the keeper intercepting the pass out and calmly slotting the ball home.

The second half saw Dan, Greg and Alex join the fray with all three adding great energy and helping to keep the tempo high for the Millers.

Darragh and Bobby combined from a regular short corner routine with Bobby smashing the ball home from distance for the fourth.

Indi dropped into centre defence as Bobby went centre mid for the last period.

The fifth goal came after great work by Bertie as he rifled into the top corner from just inside the box to complete his hat trick.

Cole was solid throughout with his distribution and judging of distances when needed and deserved his clean sheet.

Player of the match went to India who was everywhere today played three positions superbly well and almost got herself a goal after a superb dribble out from centre back where she beat several players before having her shot blocked at the last second.

Great team performance today from all of the group.

Keep working hard Mini Millers 👊
