Match report NMJFC U13 Girls vs Alderley United - 21/09/25

First home game of the season and the team were determined to get 3 points. The girls started the match on the front foot and in fact got better and better as the game progressed. This was a brilliant victory which included some good football and great goals.

Whilst the Millers were the better team first half, Alderley were a real threat on the counter. These attacks resulted in a couple of goals that meant that that half time score was close with New Mills holding a 3-2 advantage at the break.

The highlight of the first half, amongst the good football, was a cracking goal from Brooke. Her powerful shot from the edge of the area left the keeper with no chance.

Second half and the oppositions attacks became less frequent as the New Mills girls dominated the game.

Lily D grabbed her first goals of the season and ended the match with a hattrick. All 3 were her usual calm finishes past the keeper as her pace caused the defence problems.

Elsie also got her first of the season with a good finish and Brooke scored another from long range. Final goal was a brilliant effort from Emily who was a real threat on the wing.

Final score New Mills 8-2 Alderley United

Player of the match was awarded to Esmee. She was disappointed not to start to start the game but came on with the right attitude and never stopped running. The opposition defence struggled to deal with her skill and she was unlucky not to get a goal

Well done girls, great team performance
