Match Report NMJFC U14s girls - Saturday 13th December

I’ll keep this one short! A big game with bare 11, away to unbeaten, top of the league Marple. 

What a game, what a whole team performance. What a defensive dream team!

They grafted and left everything out on the field. Managed to keep Marple pretty much out of the danger zone and toughed it out with plenty of worked for opportunities.

Excellent communicating throughout with shouts of mark-up, press & cover, I’ve got you! And they certainly did have each other throughout!

The only goal of the game, coming before the half time whistle from #7 Nieve Adrio and what a goal, wellied it from far out & has to be a contender for goal of the season!

Awarded a free kick in the closing minutes, Nieve took it brilliantly, Mia fired it back in for it to only bounce off the far post to gasps from the sidelines.

Finally, the full time whistle was blown as we couldn’t hold our breath any longer, felt like winning the world cup & coach Jo cried!

No individual Player of the Match today as they all deserved it.  Glad we took a pre-match photo as they were all covered in mud from the physical battle.

Sweet, sweet result & well deserved.  (We think it was because Lily H had her shorts on back to front, a new superstition maybe)

Incredibly proud of them all as always. Go on the girls!
