A fantastic team display for the Millers today.
Stan did a good job in goal, with Alex, Alfie, Daniel and Fletcher defending solidly all match.
Indi, Jess and Bobby controlled midfield well and linked superbly with Darragh, Greg and Bert up top. Greg opened the scoring after exchanging passes with Darragh and calmly slotting home.
Bertie doubled the lead after a fantastic assist from Bobby, and then got his second of the game after fantastic midfield play from Indi, Bobby and Jess saw Jess thread the ball through for Bertie to lob the keeper superbly. Half-time changes saw Greeny go up top, with Fletcher going in goal and Cole slotting into left-back, with Mayson coming on at right wing and Bert dropping into right-back.
Mayson got on the scoresheet with a back-post header from Bobby’s corner. Mayson then smashed home his second of the game after another good pass from Jess found him in space.
The goals continued to come as more good play saw Mayson assist Darragh, who smashed home from close range. Another goal was scored quickly as Bobby delivered a corner that Darragh headed home well for his brace.
Stan came on up top as Greeny dropped back to help the defence out.
RNE got a consolation goal after a mix-up in the Millers’ back line, which finished the scoring for the day.
Player of the game was Alfie for his defensive work in both central defence and central midfield, along with his energy all match.
Another fantastic team performance from this group.
