MATCH REPORT - NMJFC U7 - 4th February

MATCH REPORT - NMJU7 - 4th February

A 1 pm kick off for the U7’s against Bollington United.

A couple of last minute changes were needed as James who has been our goal keeper for the last few games wasn’t well enough to play today, but came along to cheer his team mates on. Hope you’re feeling better soon James !

Bollington made a good start, demonstrating their speed and organisation. I think we knew from that point on, that we were going to have to work hard to stay in this game.

Our first goal was a thing if beauty, starting from Jackson in goals, to Teddy, then onto Rhys who played in Stanley for the goal. It was great to see so many involved and showing Bollington that we were absolutely in this game.

More of the same end to end action followed with Stanley scoring a fantastic free kick from quite a distance out, and Charlie putting in some crunching tackles at the back.

Changes made allowed Paige to come on as striker who was unfortunate not to score today, the closest being only inches from the bottom corner.

Ethan came on for Teddy in midfield and kept up the pressure, getting forward when he could. And Rhys dropped back to defence, following an injury to Charlie.

Bollington didn’t rest, and continued to attack forcing to some great saves from Jackson.

Stanley continuing his fine form managed to get a couple more also.

Player of the match this week went to Rhys. He was a force moving forward, and when moved to defence, his game only improved, putting in some fine tackles clearing the ball from danger. Well deserved Rhys !

A hard fought game, where every player out in 100%.

Well done New Mills
