Absolutely fantastic! Without doubt, the best performance from this fledgling group so far. Everysingle one of them had their best game and in the first half & the boys were displaying a level of football that was so easy on the eye… It was ace!

It helped that we were at the venue early and had plenty of time to warm up. It helped that we were able train on Saturday, on the astro at New Mills FC! Thanks to Sue. Also an extra special thanks NMJFC (Jo Downes) for making this happen. The training impacted their game and was clear for all to see. The lads controlled every aspect of the midfield and asserted their dominance.

The goals followed….. Reuben captained the team this weekend, after his sensational performance last week and he also offered to take the gloves again for the first half. Aiden joined in too and allowed Reuben the chance to get prepared for a second-half out field. Both Goalies did a perfect job in the first half.

This solid base allowed the outfield lads to play proper football and when Max hit the ball on the outside of his boot from Finlay’s corner, the parents made their support loud enough to hear for everyone at Glossopdale to know how impressive this team are becoming. It didn’t stop there. . . . The boys were turning on the magic and they looked unstoppable.

Finn hit another fantastic ball in to the mix and Myles thought he’d scored but Teddy reacted to the rebound, off-the-post and made sure the ball went in. He then backed it up with one of his mad celebrations!

The Mini-Millers were in complete control against a very strong opposition and when Finn crashed another goal home, we began talks as coaches how to work out the strategy for the next half. As we were talking about it, Finn scored again! This lad, on his day, is totally unstoppable!

Next up was Ryan. Again, his best performance so far this season. He finished the half with a fantastic strike and the half time team talk was easy….. “Carry on playing like that.”

Ned was impressing again and this lad rarely puts a foot wrong now. Strong at the back a follows every instruction perfectly. When Reuben got on the pitch again it was clear the depth of this squad is growing in quality.

Finn agreed with his coaches and began to get himself kitted out in preparation for a spell in the nets! Aiden started the second half in net and he concentrated & made a clearance and then a fine save with his feet.

Buxton had more players and they were rotating them quickly and this proved to be tricky for our U7’s.

Ned was protecting our goal and every single time he cleared his lines and made sure nobody was getting past him. Ned is improving week-on-week and the coaching team can’t wait to see how much he can learn.

Then Myles produced a moment of class. Teddy threaded the ball into a space that allowed Myles to take on the last defender and then perfectly slot home. It was a great goal and nothing less then Myles deserved.

As we looked & discussed Player of the Match, there was one character dominating the game. Max was in unchartered territory for a defender & was doing his best to take on the opposition in their own half. Ryan was also playing a blinder but the Player of the Match award went to Max.

Superb all-round team performance. Keep enjoying yourselves Mini-Millers
