Another full house turnout for NMJ U7s this week!
The rain stayed away (for once), though a brisk northerly wind meant those little legs had to get motoring to stay warm.
In goal, Louis took the first half and Ollie the second – both were superb, pulling off a string of saves as they continue to master the art of goalkeeping.
Out on the pitch, Tobias, Joseph, Angus and Ollie started, with Seb and Henry on the bench awaiting just-in-time arrivals Charlie and Alfred. A fast start from the opposition saw the lads on the back foot, but once settled they grew into the game and were unlucky not to score before halftime.
A lively restart brought renewed energy, and after several close efforts, Seb coolly slotted home into the bottom corner. Henry then began dictating play from deep in classic Beckenbauer style, driving the team forward. Joseph, ever alert up front, was rewarded for his persistence with a well-taken goal.
Charlie and Angus impressed with tough tackling, the latter even earning a “medical timeout” for a grazed knee – swiftly cured by a coach’s expert water wipe! Alfred, Tobias and Louis battled to the end, all showing great commitment and embodying the Millers’ spirit.
Another week of lessons learned, progress made, and smiles all round. The camaraderie between these boys is really shining through.
Player of the Match: Joseph – a great goal and tireless effort throughout 👏
Next week brings a cup game – results will count, but our focus remains on togetherness and progression.
