A damp morning at Reddish set the scene for a competitive encounter between NMJ U7s and Bollington. Both sides arrived eager to play, and right from kick-off it was clear this would be a close, hard-fought game with some excellent football on show.
Joseph took the gloves for the first half and immediately impressed, showing great composure as he dealt with early pressure.
In midfield and attack, Henry, Alfred, Tobias and Angus worked tirelessly to link play, chase down loose balls and create chances. Their movement off the ball and willingness to battle made a real difference in keeping the game finely balanced. A particular highlight was a dribble from Henry that went almost the whole pitch, such power and pace.
The breakthrough moments came through two well-taken goals: first from Louie, who got his 2nd in 2 games, and then from Ollie, whose close control and quick reactions caused constant problems for the Bollington defence.
The second half saw Seb stepping into goal – and what a performance he delivered. Brave, focused and full of energy, he made several vital stops and showed brilliant determination throughout. His commitment, both as keeper and outfield during the match, earned him a fully deserved Player of the Match award.
By the final whistle, both teams could be proud of a close, exciting game played in great spirit. A superb effort from all the NMJ boys.
