Match Report NMJFC U8 Girls - 09/11/25

All 7 girls turned up in force this weekend once again to take on Team Goal in what is only their 6th match together ever. It’s amazing to see how well this bunch are coming along in this opening season of their footballing journey.

We started this weekend with Nora between the posts who showed off her ability to understand when to collect and when to clear with her feet perfectly, putting in a great performance during the first half as keeper.

We had Isla in the middle with Skye and Nina either side then Elle upfront, this combination proved beneficial almost immediately with our girls showing composure on the ball and all putting in 100% effort to be everywhere all of the time to keep winning the ball back and get the team up the pitch with pace. Isla was strong and quick at the back along with Skye and Nina who drove the ball up the lines making great runs. Elle chased every ball relentlessly getting tackles in on every player she came across.

Subs this week where Emily and Nancy, both came onto the pitch making an impact and helping the team progress. Emily was once again everywhere running after every ball. Nancy carried on from last weekend and was making her own chances on goal from our own half of the pitch. Nancy scored twice from darting runs carrying the ball beautifully before slotting it home 👏⚽️

Skye got yet another goal sliding the ball past the goal keeper superbly. Isla once again won the ball at the back and took it all the way up the pitch before getting the goal she well and truly deserved for her performance.

Second half saw Nancy take up positions in goal, a place she is starting to really call home with fantastic concentration and ball stopping ability. The rest of the team continued to do everything they could to put in a strong performance for the team and to get the ball up the park.

This week’s girl of the game award went to Skye for her strong performance chasing players back to tackle and then pushing the team up to create chances on goal. 🏆🎉⚽️👏
