Match Report NMJFC U8 girls - 18/10/25

This Saturday we kicked off an hour later than usual and our girls took full advantage. The game was against Stockport County this week and the 7 girls from our under 8s team had energy to burn as they set about showing all their supporters everything they have learned over the past couple of months. 

The game started with Isla in goal who showed great stopping ability and awareness during her ball distribution that got the team on the front foot. We had Nina, Nora, Nancy and Emily making up the starting line up and they all played their part to get us going strong. Emily started strong attacking the defence of Stockport making runs with the ball and pushing the team towards the goal. Nora was once again strong in her defensive play and drove the ball up towards the Stockport box. This ability brought her chances at goal and during the game she managed to get the ball in the net twice with some fantastic strikes.

The two subs this week were Skye and Elle who came Into the game raring to go and keeping the energy levels up. Nancy did a great job concentrating on her job in defence and winning us the ball back from all over the pitch. Nina showed great understanding of the game and combined that with her skill to keep a strong back line not allowing the ball past. 

Skye created more chances and put the ball away with a glorious strike into the top of the net. In the second half Nancy went into goal and showed just how good she is in between the post making some amazing saves and getting off her line to sweep up when needed. Isla now playing outfield was strong and forcing the team up, created more good chances and got her self a goal to top off a glorious performance from the team. 

The girl of the game trophy went to Nina this week for her defensive qualities, being in the right position at the right time and taking on instructions perfectly. Well done Nina and well done to the team for a performance that made everyone there super proud of their achievement and effort. 🏆🎉⚽️
