Match report NMJFC U8's V Chinley - 22/9/24

Matchday 3 for our Mini-Millers who line-up as a very different team to last season. We have a couple of new additions in Mia & Harrison who have both hit the ground running! Two fantastic players who are both hardworking & improving with every single match!

We were missing a couple of our more established players on Sunday but this allows other individuals more game-time & naturally they will improve faster. Most importantly, they are having such fun and this is the key to our success!

As Coaches, we noticed how strong the kids have become on the ball. Some of the passing & dribbling in the first-half was incredible. Reuben is in fine-form after his last two fixtures against tough Chapel sides, but he is always up to the test. Yet again he was making great saves and that beaming smile never seems to fade.

At the back we started with Ned who gives nothing less than 100% & this week was no different. Infront of Ned was Teddy on the right & Ryan on the left. Harrison started in the middle.

What a start! Harrison⚽️ got things going with another beautiful strike! Then Teddy⚽️ pooped up with a stunning finish and the team were looking solid. Max was carrying an injury but just couldn’t stop himself from getting involved and was helping out at the back now.

Mia also got involved early in the first-half and looked completely comfortable in attack as she was going past defenders and setting the lads up with good goal-scoring opportunities.

Aiden also got more minutes and looks better & better every game.

Second-half was a bit tougher and Chinley came out firing and The Mini-Millers found themselves on the back foot and needing to strengthen the defence. In attack we  had fewer chances but this didn’t stop Mighty Max⚽️ registering a goal with a powerful blast into the net!

When the Final whistle sounded, every single player could be proud of themselves and the fighting spirit they displayed.

POTM went to Teddy🏆 who was a Colossus at the back & absolute dynamite in attack! His goal celebration was also top-drawer!

Well Done Mini-Millers & keep up the hardwork!
