Match report NMJFC U8s Bees - 13/11/22

New Mills Bee's under 8's Vs Buxton Young Bucks Whites

A surprisingly bright, warm morning for the Bees in Glossopdale this morning.  Almost a full squad.... sadly Seren failed a late fitness test.

We were up against another strong Buxton team in the Young Bucks Whites.

Before the formalities and football, as a mark of respect a minutes silence was held as it was Remembrance Sunday.  This was impeccably observed by all the players and coaches.

Then it was down to business.  Captain for the day was Rocco (sporting another of his famous hairstyles)  The Bees started brightly against Buxton with some really quick passing.

Tenacious Charlie got on the scoresheet early on, some good passing throughout the first half from Joshua, Leo and Toby meant an almost even half with Buxton edging it.

The second half saw a switch of goalkeeper from Stanley to Toby, some quick Buxton attacks meant it was all hands on deck as Buxton really got to grips with the game.  Charlie had another effort which unfortunately went over the crossbar (had it gone in... goal of the season contender no doubt about it) and he also hit the post.. how unlucky? That hat trick is on its way!

Stanley was battling up and down the pitch with some great tackles, Alexander made a couple of crucial interceptions but the Bees couldn't push on.  Rocco was constantly running, tackling and shielding the ball trying to get it moving up field.

Joshua was solid in defence and Leo ran and ran trying to work with Charlie to grab some more goals.

In a fitting way, our captain was also the player of the match.  Rocco didn't stop trying for every minute he was on the pitch! Well done Rocco and well done Bees.

We go again next week !
