Match Report NMJFC U8s v Hayfield - 13/10/24

What a game of football last weekend! Our Mini-Millers were up against a Hayfield team that are new to this league and have a fresh team. Credit where it’s due, our opposition were incredible and we have to mention the goal of the season . . . . . . . . . . Not by our team but if you like football, you can appreciate utter class! The Hayfield No. 7 weaved his way through our entire team to score a ‘Diego Maradona’ style goal and this wouldn’t be a match report if you didn’t recognise brilliance. A privilege to watch.

Luckily our kids are also very good and never once did their heads go down. Every time we responded and our Mini-Millers were fighting back.

Reuben made some incredible saves & has become our solid rock at the back. This boy has a special quality of generosity and will do anything needed to help out the team.

At the back, Teddy & Max were incredible. Safe, secure and always looking to turn defence into attack.

Ryan was also on top-form and doing the ‘Hard-Yards’ getting back and also defending, We pride ourselves on hardwork and both Harrison & Mia were also working back to make sure we kept things tight.

The game ended up very even & once the final whistle was blown, every single player could be proud of their performance and the influence they had on the match.

Two young teams going toe-to-toe and absolutely nothing could separate them. Outstanding display of The beautiful game and we left Glossopdale knowing we have years of this entertainment ahead of us.
