Match Report NMJFC U9 Vipers - 12/09/26
The second week of our season and second cup game for the Vipers, coming up against a tough Buxton team, we knew they would have to play well.
With almost full team, JJ still getting back to full fitness but again came to cheer his teammates on; we welcomed Lily back for her first game of the season and Freddie for his Vipers debut.
Our focus recently has been about passing the ball, not hiding behind opponents, making sure we can see our teammates and call for the ball. Last week we saw flashes of this but this week it was executed beautifully. This was optimised by a team goal where 5 players, 6 passes, involving goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and striker to finish a fantastic football move from front to back.
It’s not all about what you do with the ball but without it too and defensively the work rate was evident with superb tackling, willingness to help teammates and pressing the ball resulting in a strong defensive display.
A superb team performance from every player from front to back, keep working on passing and moving Vipers and we’ll slither past every opponent, not even the mongooses will get the better of you…
