Match Report NMJFC U9s - 08/02/25

The boys were back at Stockport Sports village today for their 2nd game of the season against Wythenshawe Jaguar’s 

We were also back to a full strength squad which is always great.

James took the first half in goal, with Charlie T and Rhys in defence. Stanley, Teddy and Jackson in midfield, and Charlie J as striker.

The boys started a little slow, and the Jaguars quick to take advantage. They were first to get a goal followed by continued attacks for the next few minutes.

James pulled off some great saves as we struggled to clear.

Finally we started to find a bit of rhythm managing to get the ball out wide to Stanley, who had a couple of chances saved before finally finding the net.

Stanley encouraged by this went in to do this another 2 times running down the left and getting that ball in towards the back post.

We had introduced Dylan by this point who won the ball and ran on to grab a goal himself in what was an incredible 5 minutes turn around.

James came out for the 2nd half and went into defence rotating with Pavak and Rhys.

Teddy moved into left midfield to relieve Stanley and was unlucky not to score from a great ball in from Charlie T who was playing striker.

Charlie J took an impressive turn on the right midfield  reliving Jackson who was having a stormer himself.

Dylan was our 2nd half goalkeeper and he was put to test a few times before the game was out, put in a couple of good saves however there chances were limited due to James’s reading of the game and timing his tackles to perfection.

Player of the match was given to Jackson this week. Jackson worked really hard today, getting up for the attacks and ensuring he followed his marker when defending, always being able to put his challenge in.
