Match Report NMJFC U9s vs Hazel Grove United FC Girls Jets – 18/11/23
This week the girls entered a new league, with new competition and also experienced a new coach on the sideline, and despite recent training sessions being cancelled – the girls took it all within their stride.
The girls arrived, as always, with high energy and eagerness to play. This week we were one member down, with Ava being on holiday, but we were also one coach up, who introduced some fantastic organization to the team, and provided exemplary support and encouragement, along with a new look warm-up, which the girls loved! We are lucky to have such fantastic parent-volunteers helping out with this super talented team. Thank you!
This week’s starting line-up included Seren in goal, and she played this position strongly, saving some skilful shots.
Our top scoring duo, Ebony and Paige, were up front and put in an array of fantastic shots on target, putting the pressure on the Hazel Grove girls.
Agnes, starting in defence, put in some noteworthy tackles and even had a superb shot on target. Millie, as always, is solid at the back, and demonstrated some excellent passes, and powerful kicks to get the ball out of the dangerzone.
The first 15 minutes saw both teams level-pegging before Hazel Grove took a slight lead with a couple of goals shooting passed Seren, however the positive energy from the girls and their supporters was far too strong to dampen spirits in this game.
Soon it was Jessica’s time to join the game and she demonstrated some brilliant dribbling ability, she also put in some strong tackles in mid-field and moved up and down the pitch effortlessly with some top-notch passes to her team mates.
Annabella, exhibited some exceptional speed, running up and down the wing, and Emily made a sterling effort, getting her foot in and moving up the pitch to take some quality shots on target.
The second half saw Millie volunteer to go in net, and here she demonstrated fearless determination, not afraid to come out of the net to get the ball, even when being closed down by the opposition. Seren also had a shot on target, but the ball unfortunately went wide.
Today we saw the girls’ ability and confidence growing further, and player of the week was awarded to Jessica who has come on leaps and bounds in recent weeks. Jessica is a strong mid-fielder and team player, putting in some excellent tackles and passing the ball confidently to her team mates.
Well done Jessica, and well done to all the girls in yet another fantastic game of football!
