The ‘brain mat’ sponsored Saturday team played Poynton Junior Reds this morning. It was a cloudy morning weather wise, but it was a brilliant bright start from our boys. The coaches gave the boys a challenge to play out from the back with short, controlled passes, through the midfield and not use the long ball.
It was amazing to watch the players control the ball, look at their options and pick out the best pass available. This presented several great chances for goals in the first halfwhich Remo, Leighton and Junior were happy to convert.
The Mini Millers started the second half in the same style as they finished the first, with some attractive passing football.
The boys never panicked when Poynton piled on the pressure and scored some goals of their own. The boys stuck to their game plan and the goals continued to hit the back of the net. The second half goals were a mix of unstoppable shots from outside the box from Harry F, Junior and Harry P and a bullet of the header from Bobby.
Today’s player of the match was Harry F, who worked tirelessly for the team today. Well done Harry.
