Match report NMJFC Under 10s girls - 28/01/23

U10 Girls vs Stockport Vikings

No league game for the girls this week so instead a friendly at Stockport Vikings. The game today was a clear example of the continued development of this team as the girls played some great football

First half was an even encounter. Both teams got on the scoresheet but Millie and the opposition keeper made sure it was a close contest at half time

Second half and we decided to change some of the positions around, including the goalkeeper. This could have caused some problems but instead the Millers upped their performance all over the pitch.

Elsie, Florence and Lily all had a spell in goal and all did great, keeping clean sheets in the process. They were helped by a strong performance from the defence. Erin and Holly did well marking the opposition forwards and keeping them quiet whilst Isla put in her usual dominant performance winning the ball and passing it forwards.

For her first game out of goal Millie was brilliant and was unlucky not to score following a dribble into the box

The attacking display today was first class. Elsie, Lily, Emily and Florence all passed the ball well between them and caused real problems for the Stockport defence and keeper.
