New Mills U11s Vs Marple Athletic.
What an opening game for the Millers today. Shame there wasn’t a ref, but I think they all played fair with the decisions given. Couldn’t have asked more from them all in the first half, Lily in net with some great saves and safe hands we were well in front at half time. Couple of scuffles inside the box meant Marple claimed a couple of goals from both our keepers today.
Plenty of goals, plenty of getting into that important space, fantastic passing through their defending players and taking opportunities when they saw them – great play!!
Thanks to our supporters today for lots of positive praise! Marple adding their extra player for fair play today made the Millers work harder.
Our formidable up front Freyas constantly working hard and taking the shots today, great pace from them both and midfield players supporting and putting on the pressure to keep the ball high up the pitch and taking the chances got them on the score sheet too.
Jaz making great use of space today bagging herself a goal with a great shot also a pass right through the middle for Freya to take the shot, Nayia making the most of the keeper’s fumble poking it into the back of the net.
Phoebe’s quick reactions seizing the chance for another. Well deserved and worked hard to get on the scoresheet today.
Quick ten minutes for Brooke today in midfield, thrown right into the thick of it and got on with the game.
Missing our Ava today who will be back with us soon but celebrated the team’s win at home!! Thanks Ava. Missed our newest player Nieve today too.
Our defenders Jay & Bella today coming out to meet their strikers and using the time they had well to clear the ball back up the pitch again, well done girls.
It’s great to see them looking up and taking their time and having that confidence on the ball, pressing today was good, we’ve been working on that, an attacking game today, great work.
