New mills vs Bollington Jaguars
6:30 Kick off @ The home of football, the Rec.
With everybody grateful of the restrictions lifted at the start of the week, the New Mills lads were just grateful for a midweek fixture. The U13s welcomed Bollington to the Rec for this knockout cup game.
Unfortunately the Referee who was allocated for the fixture didn't turn up for what ever reason. The Bollington coach stepped in without a whistle and had an excellent game letting both sets of lads do what they do best... PLAY FOOTBALL and boy did they do that.
FOOTBALL definitely won this evening, with everybody certainly enjoying the entertainment that was out there on show. New Mills went on to win this spectacle 2-1 in a tactical, breathtaking, tireless display, with both goals coming from Max (⚽️⚽️). A special mention for the New Mills goalkeeper, Logan, who kept the Millers in the tie with some outstanding one on one saves, and the centre halves Gene and Nate who ran their socks off all game and defended tremendously well!
I could literally write a write up on every single player this evening, everyone was 10/10 and without them all, this victory wouldn't have been possible.
Life has been tough enough this past year as I know everyone will agree, but this is why we all love the beautiful game, for evenings like this one. Seeing the lads fighting for one another and the togetherness of late has allowed them to trust one another and enjoy their football. Anyone who had the pleasure of watching this one will agree that they are enjoying their football at the moment, despite the very nervy last 5 minutes of the game which seemed to last a lifetime. But a REALLY great game of football enjoyed by all. One of my favourite moments this evening was injured captain Luke hobbling across the pitch to join in with the team spirit at the full time whistle 👌🏻 It's so refreshing to be a part of this very talented bunch of lads, together they can achieve great things. Keep up the great work, keep playing positively and with smiles on your faces.
