Match report NMJFC Under 7s Yellows - 20/03/22

This weekend, the Yellows played SK Vipers for the last time in the league.

The first half was pretty level, but end-to-end with lots of good chances on both sides, and great saves by both goalkeepers. Toby made a great save mid-way through the half, and Leo was kept busy in defence, making some great tackles and interceptions to keep the Vipers at bay. The half-time score was a fair reflection of an even half.

The second half was more of the same, but as is always the case with close games it was a tense affair. Once again, the Yellows were thwarted by the Vipers goalkeeping, goalpost, and excellent defending. Ronan in particular was unlucky on two occasions; one shot hit the Viper’s goalkeeper in the midriff who didn’t know much about it. Joshua in goal was kept busy, and made a string of saves, but the last few minutes were cruel on the Yellows and a final score that did not reflect the effort and determination that they showed.

A performance that deserved better, but another great turnout by the Yellows, with Seren as Captain today.
