The U10’s were up against Inter Cheadle this weekend in the 2nd round of the Richard Gregg knockout cup.
Each time we play Inter Cheadle it proves to be an entertaining encounter, packed with end-to-end football and the usual twists and turns along the way.
The boys started brightly and controlled much of the first half, limiting Inter’s chances while putting together some great passages of play.
Stanley bagged two well-taken goals, the second coming from sheer strength and determination to keep pushing.
The second half began in a similar fashion, but tired legs slowly began to show and Inter took their chances when they came.
A brilliant solo effort straight from kick-off by Dylan helped swing the momentum back our way, and Stanley added another to complete yet another hat-trick.
There was some solid defending throughout the game, alongside composed and confident goalkeeping from James. Our midfielders also deserve huge credit, they didn’t stop running from the first whistle to the last.
Another action-packed game that had everything you could want from a cup tie.
Player of the Match: Stanley. Another outstanding performance, another hat-trick, and he battled right up to the final kick of the game.
