Match Report - NMJU7 FALCONS - Sunday 13th June

A hot and humid morning at Glossopdale for our penultimate league game of the season against Glossop NE U7 Reds. A few changes of position today for the Falcons and with new instructions, they started the game well against a very well organised opposition.

The first half was quite even with possession, although the Falcons were being forced to play very deep. Although there was a lot of defending required today, they didn’t abandon their principles of passing football. They continued to try new things in the second half, played out well from the back and although no goals today, the Falcons hit the post twice in the second half which showed their continued determination to keep going until the final whistle.

Special mention to today’s captain Alfie who was involved in absolutely everything today. Tough conditions in the heat for both teams today, but Alfie covered more yards than anyone and was relentless in chasing every single ball, every tackle from defence through to attack. He was absolutely fantastic today.

A tough game today against a well organised Glossop NE U7 Reds team, but the Falcons will keep going into our final league game of the season next week with their heads held high. Great effort today from the Falcons.
