MATCH REPORT NMJU9’s 27th September

Today the U9’s were back at Stockport Sports Village to take on Wythenshawe FC Panthers.

New Mills started really strong showing off the pass and moves, and we were rewarded with Stanley getting our first goal.

Moments later, we produced a very similar goal but started this one from Rhys all the way from the back.

The Panthers started to get some composure and were now closing down much quicker, and swamping our midfield when in possession.

We had a good chat at the break about what we could improve and remembering the superb play we had been doing earlier that half.

We pushed on for what was a really tight 10 minutes before Stanley had a resurgence and got another goal, encouraging the team to keep trying and stay focused, a few minutes later he did it again !

A really tough match today against a very similar team.

Great to see so many individual improvements in the team today , Jackson making some great dribbles on the right, Pavac continuing his game management and decision making, Charlie T taking on multiple positions, solid performance from Rhys and unlucky not to score from a free kick, and Teddy keeping strong right to the end.

Special mentions to Charlie J for providing 2 assists another unlucky not to get a goal, and Stanley for getting all our goals, at times he was untouchable.

Player of the match was given to James in goal, he was great today making many superb saves.

Well done NMJU9’s !
