After a week off, the Yellows were back and ready to go against Stockport County Ladies U11. It was a game the team were looking forward to as they were coming up against old team mates and coaches, but another challenge playing against one of the league’s all girl teams.

As the game started, the opposition were on the front foot straight away. Passing the ball quickly, using the space on the pitch and their quick movement were causing the Yellows some real trouble!

It took a while for the Yellows to get into the game but they gradually started to find their feet, with some excellent tackling and creating some chances of their own.

Half-time and the message was simple - the team had to believe in themselves more! Win those loose balls and use the space down both wings where there was lots of space. The opposition were well drilled and very good on the ball - we had to do our best to upset their rhythm.

The second half was a lot better from the Yellows. A lot more energy and doing exactly what we asked at half-time. The last 20 minutes especially the team were excellent, creating numerous chances and finishing the game strongly.

The team were buzzing coming off the pitch at the end - and rightly so. Some amazing performances today across the whole team.

Zac was outstanding again in goal, commanding his area and making some excellent saves. Lucas, Henry and Leo had their best moments when blocking the opposition and making key tackles.

Riley, Robbie, Fletcher and Oscar were all doing their bit with some fantastic passing, teamwork and communication. Our captain for the day, Angus, was leading by example with his relentless work rate.

Finally, special mentions to Jack who was outstanding down the left hand side. Amazing defending, but his attacking runs and two assists were brilliant today.

⚽️⚽️ Nathan finished off those assists today, with two unbelievable finishes. The team and the crowd were absolutely thrilled for him today - very well deserved.

Finally, player of the match was Sami. After starting in his usual advanced position, he moved to a defensive role and absolutely shone! His reading of the game was first class, he knew when to tackle, when to delay and his distribution out from the back was a joy to watch. Well done Sami!

Great work today from the Yellows - the coaches were super proud of them all.
