Match report New Mills 5 Wythenshawe Panthers 29/03/25

Top of the table clash for the lads today. They knew they had to produce a performance and that’s exactly what they did. From the kick off the Millers controlled the game playing their style of football. 

Oli C bossed his area like he has done all season and played a sweeper roll always being alert to cut out any long ball played on a very short pitch.

Defenders Joseph, Eddie, Leighton were sharp and held their positions well, not giving their opponents any opportunities or space to get their shots off. 

Central midfielders Harry P, Bobby and Max was like a wall in the middle of the pitch, nothing was coming down the middle forcing the play to the wings. Oli F, Harry F and Jimmy on the wings were busy back tracking to help the defence and bursting forward at pace to create several opportunities for striker Remo who was exceptional in front of goal today, bagging four goals for his team today.

Max scored the other goal today with a fine finish after hitting the post just moments before blasting a long range shot to the back of the net. 

Overall a fantastic team performance, any of the team could have claimed the ‘brainmat’ player of the match today but it was Remo and Harry P who just pipped it. Well done boys. And a special thank you to Brodie who came to support the lads while recovering from injury.
