Match Report NMJFC U10 Girls vs Hazel Grove United FC U10 Girls 08/02/2025

Despite only having six players available to play this week’s fixture, the girls put in a fantastic performance against a tricky opposition.

The game started with Emily in goal, and she was outstanding as ever between the posts, making several crucial saves, including a stunning one-handed stop, and showed great confidence in her positioning. It was also great to see her becoming more vocal, communicating well with her teammates and showing her growing confidence in goal.

Ava and Ebony formed our solid partnership in defence, complementing each other well with strong tackles and good positioning. They held the defensive line effectively and ensured the opposition had to work hard for any chances. In midfield, Millie and Jessica were both tireless in their efforts. Millie was fearless in her tackles, making powerful runs down the left wing and getting a few shots on goal.

Jessica displayed great energy, passing the ball well and linking up with her teammates effectively.

Paige led the attack with intelligence and movement, keeping the opposition defenders on their toes. She also showed great awareness by dropping back into defence when needed and had a number of fantastic shots on target.

In the second half, Millie took over goalkeeping duties and put in a solid performance, making some important saves and distributing the ball well. She showed no hesitation in coming off her line to claim the ball when necessary.

Ebony asked to remain in defence, and she embraced the role brilliantly, reading the game well and making key interceptions. She worked seamlessly with Ava, pushing forward when the opportunity arose and setting up attacking chances. Their partnership on the right-hand side proved effective, allowing Ava to take a few shots on target.

Emily moved into defence and impressed with some last-ditch tackles, showing confidence in carrying the ball forward when needed. Paige transitioned into a midfield role, but that didn’t stop her from getting stuck into tackles and continuing to create attacking opportunities.

Jessica kept up her relentless running on the left, making intelligent moves into the middle and linking up well with her teammates. The second half was a strong showing from the team, with every player stepping up and playing their part.

Ebony was deservedly named Player of the Week for her outstanding defensive display. She adapted well to the role, reading the game brilliantly and contributing both defensively and in attack. Her ability to win the ball on the right and push forward with intelligent passing was a highlight of the match.

Overall, it was a fantastic effort from all the girls. Being low on numbers, great teamwork was more important than ever and they demonstrated this throughout. Well done girls!
