It was another strong performance from the team this week, with every player showing determination, teamwork, and real spirit on the pitch.
Stevie was solid in goal, pulling off some excellent one-handed saves in both halves. Her quick reactions and smart interceptions kept the opposition at bay, and her composure under pressure gave the defence confidence.
At the back, Martha was exceptional – calm, controlled, and fearless. She made some crucial last-ditch tackles and is clearly cementing her place on the team.
Seren worked tirelessly on the left, making strong runs forward and linking play well, while Poppy D was lively on the right, passing smartly and helping out in defence when needed. Her connection with Annabella up front was particularly effective, as she consistently found her with clever passes.
In midfield, Ava covered an incredible amount of ground and even had a good shot on goal, while Jessica gave everything, running her socks off and battling hard for every ball. Florence added great energy, moving up and down the pitch to support both attack and defence.
Up front, Annabella was a real menace for defenders – pressing hard and giving them no time to settle. Her persistence paid off after a brilliant team move that started with a pass from Stevie in goal to Poppy D, who played it forward to Annabella. One-on-one with the keeper, she showed real composure to slot it neatly past and score a superb goal.
Soon we made some substitutions, and on came Paige for Annabella, who also impressed in attack, showing strength and quick thinking on her feet.
Millie brought her usual drive down the left and, despite a rough tackle that saw her go off briefly, she showed great character to return for the second half.
In the second half we saw some changes – with Annabella and Ava switching roles, and Poppy J and Poppy D swapping sides — the team adapted seamlessly. Poppy J made an immediate impact, carrying the ball from the left, gliding past several players, and finishing with a well-taken goal that showed great control and confidence.
Every player played their part in today’s tough fixture, not afraid to put a foot in and fight for the team. It was a solid all-round display that reflected the girls’ progress and determination. Player of the Week went to Martha – well deserved after several consistent performances week on week. She’s been knocking on the door for a while, showing strength, composure, and a willingness to listen and learn. A fantastic performance all round – proud of every single one of the girls. Well done!
